Creative and Performing Arts Program
Rockford Public Schools District #205 has a program for students needing more in-depth arts experiences, the Creative and Performing Arts Program (CAPA). The program is housed at two locations- Ellis Arts Academy for students in grades 6-8 and Auburn High School for students in grades 9-12. Acceptance into the program is by audition. CAPA auditions for the 2011-2012 school year are:
· Thursday, February 3 from 4 p.m. to 8p.m. (High school music auditions only)
· Friday, February 4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (No high school music auditions)
· Saturday, February 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Reserve your audition time by January 26, 2011.
Messages should include contact information, arts area of interest, student and parent name, and current grade and school.

Concert and Art Exhibit Preparation
We are coming upon a typically busy time of year. There are festivals, fine arts weeks, concerts, competitions.. a multitude of opportunities for our young people to take part in. Arts Standards Based Instruction Ideas
New York State Research Article- This provides several lesson activities that closely align with the New York State art and music standards. These lesson ideas share the resource information and assessment choices to determine level of student understanding of the skills being explored.
